Robert Kolbila is a native of Ghana and earned a Masters of Science in Development Studies from the University for Development Studies in Ghana. He began working for the Gender Impacts Lab in 2017 as a Graduate Research Assistant at Mississippi State University. Kolbila implemented surveys and focus group discussions with men and women farmers in Ghana’s Northern Region to aid in the Gender Impacts Lab’s research.

Kolbila served as the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning Specialist with Catholic Relief Services of Ghana while completing his Masters degree. For his Masters thesis, he examined the Ministry of Health’s effectiveness in improving healthcare for the impoverished areas through surveys, focus group discussions, and informant interviews.

Kolbila plans to achieve his Ph.D. at Mississippi State University by exploring how food security, gender dynamics, and other sociocultural factors impact health among the rural poor Ghana.
